Redirect Checker
Paste a link and see every hop it takes: status codes, response times and where it finally lands. Useful when an affiliate says a link is broken and you cannot reproduce it.
Up to 40 checks per day. Only public http/https addresses — private and internal hosts are refused.
What to look for in a chain
Every hop costs you conversions
Each redirect adds latency, and on a slow mobile connection a four-hop chain loses real clicks before the landing page ever paints. Two hops is normal. Five is a problem worth fixing.
An http:// hop breaks tracking
If any hop drops to plain http, browsers strip the referrer and some will block the request outright. One insecure hop in the middle is enough to lose attribution on the whole chain.
Watch for lost query strings
Compare the parameters on the first URL with the last. Shorteners and some redirect scripts drop query strings, which is the usual reason a click arrives with no sub-ID and no campaign attached.
How to check a redirect chain
- 1
Paste the link
Any public http or https address: an affiliate link, a short link or a landing page.
- 2
Trace the redirects
The checker follows each hop and records its status code and response time.
- 3
Read the chain
Look at the hop count, whether every hop is HTTPS and whether the final page returns 200.
- 4
Compare first and last URL
If the parameters on the first URL are missing from the last, something in the chain is stripping them.
Status codes you will see
301 and 308 are permanent redirects; 302, 303 and 307 are temporary. Tracking links normally use 302 so the destination can change per click.
A 4xx at the end means the landing page is missing or blocked, and a 5xx means the server failed. Either way the click is lost.
Long chains are usually tracking stacked on tracking: a network link wrapping an advertiser link wrapping an MMP link. Each hop adds latency and another place for parameters to be dropped.

Redirect Checker FAQ
How many redirect checks can I run?
Up to 40 per day. Only public http and https addresses are allowed; private and internal hosts are refused.
How many redirects is too many?
Two hops is normal for an affiliate link. Beyond four, slow mobile connections start losing visitors before the landing page loads.
What is the difference between this and the link tester?
The redirect checker traces a link from our server. The tracking link tester runs it from a residential IP in a country you choose with a real device fingerprint, which matters for geo and device rules.
Why did my link work for me but not for the checker?
Some landing pages vary by country, device or bot detection. Use the link tester with the right country and device to see what that traffic sees.
