MaxBounty is one of the CPA networks media buyers and sub-networks lean on most for lead-gen offers. If you run your own affiliates on top of those offers, MaxBounty only sees you — one affiliate account. To know which of your affiliates drove each lead, and pay them correctly, the clicks have to go through your own tracker first. This guide wires a MaxBounty offer into Affclix: the Affclix click ID travels out in MaxBounty's s2 sub-ID, and MaxBounty's postback brings it back as #S2#. If server-to-server tracking is new to you, the S2S tracking guide covers the fundamentals.

How the Integration Works

The flow is the same one every S2S integration uses — only the parameter names change:

  1. Your affiliate's Affclix tracking link is clicked. Affclix records the click, gives it a unique click ID and redirects to the campaign URL.
  2. The campaign URL is your MaxBounty tracking link with s2={click_id} on it. Affclix replaces {click_id} with the real click ID before the redirect, so MaxBounty receives it in s2.
  3. The user converts on the advertiser's page. MaxBounty records the lead against your account and keeps the s2 value with it.
  4. MaxBounty fires your postback URL with #S2# replaced by that value. Affclix matches it to the original click and credits the affiliate who sent it.

Everything depends on one value making the round trip unchanged: the Affclix click ID, out in s2 and back in #S2#.

What You Need

  • An approved MaxBounty affiliate account, and approval on the campaign you want to run
  • The payout MaxBounty pays you for the campaign, and its allowed countries and traffic types
  • An Affclix account with permission to create advertisers and campaigns

Step 1 — Get the Tracking Link from MaxBounty

In MaxBounty, open the campaign and go to its tracking link generator:

  1. Enter {click_id} in the Sub-ID field.
  2. Scroll down and set Creative Type to Contextual.
  3. Click Generate Code and copy the link.

MaxBounty puts the Sub-ID field into the s2 parameter, so the generated link ends like this:

https://www.mb103.com/lnk.asp?o=11294&c=918271&a=208668&l=11345&s2=%7Bclick%5Fid%7D
Decode the macro before you paste it into Affclix

MaxBounty URL-encodes the Sub-ID, so {click_id} comes out as %7Bclick%5Fid%7D. Affclix only replaces the macro written with plain braces. Left encoded, MaxBounty receives the literal text instead of a click ID and no lead can ever be matched. Change the end of the link to s2={click_id}.

Step 2 — Create the Campaign in Affclix

First, create one advertiser called MaxBounty and put every MaxBounty campaign under it. That keeps your MaxBounty revenue on one line of the advertiser report, and all those campaigns share the advertiser's postback token — the auth value in Step 4.

Then create a campaign under that advertiser. Use the MaxBounty campaign name so your affiliates recognise it, set the countries MaxBounty allows, set the revenue to what MaxBounty pays you and the affiliate payout to what you pay your affiliates. The difference is your margin.

In Campaign URL, paste the MaxBounty link with s2={click_id}. You can also pass your affiliate details into MaxBounty's other sub-IDs, so you can see which of your affiliates sent a lead inside MaxBounty's own reports:

https://www.mb103.com/lnk.asp?o=11294&c=918271&a=208668&l=11345
   &s2={click_id} // Affclix click ID — required
   &s1={affiliate_id} // your affiliate's ID — optional
   &s3={affiliate_id}_{sub_aff1} // affiliate + their sub-ID — optional

The campaign form's URL Builder can assemble this for you: paste the MaxBounty link and insert the tokens from the list below it.

Step 3 — The Macro Mapping

Two sets of macros are involved. Affclix macros use braces and are filled in when the click is redirected. MaxBounty tokens use hash signs and are filled in when MaxBounty fires the postback:

MaxBounty sub-IDAffclix macro (link)MaxBounty token (postback)Meaning
s2{click_id}#S2#Click ID — the round-trip key (required)
s1{affiliate_id}#S1#Your affiliate's ID
s3{affiliate_id}_{sub_aff1}—Affiliate and their sub-ID, for MaxBounty's reports

Only s2 matters to the integration. Affclix does not need anything back from s1 or s3 — the click ID already tells it which affiliate, sub-ID and campaign the lead belongs to.

Step 4 — Add the Postback in MaxBounty

Save the campaign in Affclix and open it. Copy the Global S2S Postback URL from the campaign page. It looks like this:

https://track.yourdomain.com/p?auth=XXXXXXXX&c=1234&click_id={replace_it}

Replace {replace_it} with MaxBounty's #S2# token:

https://track.yourdomain.com/p?auth=XXXXXXXX&c=1234&click_id=#S2#

Then add it in MaxBounty:

  1. Open the campaign (offer) in MaxBounty and scroll down to the postback section.
  2. Set Callback Type to URL (any campaign tracking type).
  3. Paste the postback URL into the box and click Save Pixel.
  • Keep auth and c exactly as copied. Affclix rejects postbacks without the advertiser's token, so a URL typed by hand without it never records a conversion.
  • Use the same slot on both sides. The click ID goes out in s2, so the postback reads #S2#. #S1# would return your affiliate ID, which is not a click ID.
  • Set the postback on each campaign. Every Affclix postback URL carries its own campaign ID in c, so each MaxBounty campaign gets the URL from its matching Affclix campaign.
Keep the payout on the campaign

MaxBounty can send the rate it paid with #RATE#, but you do not need it. Set what MaxBounty pays you as the campaign's revenue and what you pay affiliates as the campaign's payout, and both stay under your control. When MaxBounty changes a rate, update the campaign.

Step 5 — Test Before You Send Traffic

  1. Generate a tracking link for a test affiliate and click it. Check that you land on the MaxBounty offer and that the address bar shows a real click ID in s2 — not {click_id} and not %7Bclick%5Fid%7D.
  2. Complete a real lead, or ask your MaxBounty affiliate manager to fire a test postback for that click.
  3. In Affclix, open the advertiser postback log. You should see MaxBounty's call with your click ID, marked as accepted, and a conversion on the test affiliate.

You can also check the postback URL itself with the campaign's postback link tester before involving MaxBounty: paste the URL with a real click ID in place of #S2# and it shows how Affclix would handle it.

Troubleshooting

  • Leads in MaxBounty, no conversions in Affclix — open the advertiser postback log. No entry at all means MaxBounty is not firing: check that the postback was saved with Save Pixel on the right campaign. An entry marked rejected tells you why.
  • click_id arrives as {click_id} or %7Bclick%5Fid%7D — the macro in the Campaign URL was never replaced. Either it is still URL-encoded (fix it to s2={click_id}), or the traffic went to the MaxBounty link directly instead of through the Affclix tracking link.
  • click_id arrives as #S2# — MaxBounty did not recognise the token. Check the spelling: hash signs on both sides, capital S.
  • click_id arrives as a number like your affiliate ID — the postback reads #S1# instead of #S2#.
  • Postback rejected for authentication — the auth parameter is missing or was edited. Copy the Global S2S Postback URL from the campaign page again and redo only the #S2# replacement.
  • Counts differ between MaxBounty and Affclix — first compare the same date range and time zone. Then look at leads MaxBounty later reverses: they stay in Affclix until you reject them there, so reconcile before you pay affiliates.

Once one MaxBounty campaign works, every other one is the same: a new campaign under the MaxBounty advertiser, s2={click_id} on its Campaign URL, and that campaign's own postback URL saved in MaxBounty.

Questions fréquentes

Which MaxBounty sub-ID should carry the Affclix click ID?

Use s2. MaxBounty's link generator puts its Sub-ID field into s2, so the Campaign URL carries s2={click_id} and the postback returns it with #S2#. The link and the postback must use the same slot, or leads cannot be matched to clicks.

Why is my MaxBounty postback not creating conversions in Affclix?

The most common cause is an encoded macro: MaxBounty writes {click_id} as %7Bclick%5Fid%7D, and Affclix only replaces the plain-brace form. Also check that the postback reads #S2# and still carries the auth and c parameters copied from the campaign page. The advertiser postback log shows every call received and why it was accepted or rejected.

Can I pass the MaxBounty commission to Affclix in the postback?

MaxBounty can send the rate it paid with #RATE#, but you do not need it. Set what MaxBounty pays you as the campaign revenue and what you pay affiliates as the campaign payout, so your affiliate payouts and margin are calculated from values you control.
